Jack Thorne's adaptation of A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic in London, featuring John Simm as Scrooge, enchants audiences through traditional storytelling, emotional performances, and innovative set design.
Taking my teenage son Reuben to see A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic in London was a mixed prospect due to his disdain for both theater and the story. However, Jack Thorne 's adaptation, now in its eighth year, proved enchanting. John Simm , known for his role in Life On Mars, played Scrooge with commanding presence and emotion, making the experience captivating for both audiences young and old.
The intimate setting and Rob Howell's innovative set design added to the immersive experience, ensuring this traditional adaptation of Dickens' classic remains compelling and untouched by modern issues
