According to the latest data sent by Comelec to reporters, 1,530,717 registrants were recorded in the regular registration from Dec. 12 to Jan. 21.
Meanwhile, a total of 8,651 registrants were recorded in Comelec’s Register Anywhere Program from Dec. 17 to Jan. 27.Of the total, 926,471 were newly-registered voters, while the rest were either transfers in location, reactivation, or reinstatement of name in the list of voters.to boost the number of registered voters nationwide, prioritizing far-flung areas with low voter turnout.
