Everything we know so far on the fire this afternoon
Four Herts Fire and Rescue engines were called to the emergency, believed to be an electrical fire that started in the basement, this afternoon .
Herts Police were also called out and assisted at the scene, in Vicarage Road, putting road closures in place and asking people to avoid the area. Fortunately, no one has been seriously injured according to information given to Watford mayor Peter Taylor.A spokesperson said:"Firefighters have now successfully extinguished the fire, although we’re still at the scene ventilating the area and liaising with the hospital staff."The mayor said: “Very grateful to the emergency services for responding so quickly to the fire at Watford General today.
