This is the second time the festival has come to Manchester
A festival dedicated to to the wonderful, tasty and glorious world of chicken wings is making its return to Manchester. Wing Fest, which will see a whopping 100K wings consumed, will be held at the Love Factory, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August.
The festival will see some of the best wing spots in the country go head to head for the honour of being crowned as the best buffalo wing, best wild wing, and the best BBQ wing which is a brand-new category for this year's festival. The event this year will see a reduced capacity, with it divided into sessions to reduce waiting times.This means the festival will begin on Saturday afternoon, followed by an evening session with festivities coming to a close on Sunday afternoon.
This year's line up includes last year's champions Eat The Bird, local favourites Yard & Coop, Poor Boys which is a New Orleans inspired soul food spot based in London, and Birmingham favourites, Wing Slingers and Filthy Wingers plus much more. All traders will be competing to be voted into the coveted Hall of Flame.
Guests will also have a chance to compete for wing supremacy with the deadly Lava Wing Challenge hosted by Clifton Chilli Club which is the UK’s hottest wing challenge. As well as this, there is the Sweet Baby Ray’s Wing Eating competition hosted by Food Review Club.Tickets are now on sale via the Wing Fest site and they include a Wing Fest signature trucker hat, axe throwing, all entertainment, competitions, and live music.
