When shopping online, it's tempting to jump at an attractive bargain.

Unfortunately, a growing number of customers are being caught out by look-alike websites designed to take your money or steal credit card information.

Not wanting to miss out on the discounted price, Olehman bought two belts for $61 but they never arrived.A spike in reports of fake websites has prompted a warning from the consumer watchdog, the ACCC. "We are seeing some really well-known, high-end brands being spoofed. High-end clothing, pyjamas, even vehicles," ACCC chair Catriona Lowe told 9News.

"Their websites tend to be very sophisticated and look legitimate," Queensland University of Technology marketing expert Gary Mortimer told 9News.
