Highs will be in the upper 90s in many places Friday through Sunday|MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The heat is on here in Central Alabama! It’s lower to middle 90s for this afternoon with a good deal of sunshine. The difference between today and the last few days is an increase in humidity and a small rain chance.We’re looking at a few isolated pop-up showers and thunderstorms possibly developing late this morning into the afternoon thanks to increasing moisture levels from the Gulf of Mexico.
Fortunately it won’t be unbearably muggy, with dew points likely staying below 70⁰. As a result, it won’t feel too much worse than what the actual temperature is. In other words, the heat index won’t be much higher than what the thermometer says. It’s forecast to be dry Friday and mainly dry Saturday with most of the tropical moisture and rain staying to our south. That moisture could swing up into Alabama Sunday and Monday, resulting in at least some minor rain and storm chances each day.
