The bodies of Tayla Black and her daughter, Murphy Margaret were found by police in their Rockhampton home two weeks ago. Ms Black’s husband, Matthew Cox was charged with their murders.

A 31-year-old man, accused of murdering his wife and 11-week old baby girl in Central Queensland has faced court.

The bodies of Tayla Black and her daughter, Murphy Margaret were found by police in their Rockhampton home two weeks ago. A welfare check was conducted after Ms Black’s husband, Matthew Cox, attended a Brisbane police station. Mr Cox appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court via video link on Monday, and was represented by defence lawyer, Eleanor Meany.Buildings in Quay Street, Rockhampton, were lit up in tribute to Ms Black and Murphy."Our main priority at this stage is to ensure that he's well enough to face the court process," she said outside court."It's obviously a tragedy for everyone involved and the extended family has been torn apart.
