A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”as a mark of respect.A decision on whether this weekend’s Premier League and EFL fixtures will go ahead will be made on Friday morning following a meeting with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
A statement from England read: “It is with profound sadness that we received the news that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. Kane’s teammate Raheem Sterling added: “My deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this incredibly sad time.” The Scottish Football Association said: “The Scottish FA expresses its deepest condolences to the Royal Family upon the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Patron of our Association.”
“How much she inspired us with her leadership. How she comforted us when times were tough. Until her last days she served her country with dignity and grace. This year she would have known how loved she was.
