A motorcyclist who was in a crash on the A59 on Saturday has died of his injuries. The unnamed male, who police say is in his 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead later.
Lancashire Police were called at about 1.45pm today following the report of the collision near the McDonald's on the A59. Emergency services attended and the biker, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead later. In a statement, police said: "His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time. We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision itself or anyone who may have dashcam footage, and who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us."We are especially keen to hear from the driver of a black estate car which was seen in the area at the time of the collision and who may have important information.
Sgt Michael Higginson, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “A man has lost his life following this collision and my thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time. I would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam from their vehicle, to get in touch.
