Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has confirmed AAMI Park will be opened up as a live site for the Women’s World Cup semi-final between the Matildas and England at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Andrews tweeted on Saturday night that AAMI Park would be opened up for fans who want to watch.

, which is expected to draw around 10,000 fans to watch NBA stars including Josh Giddey and Patty Mills in action.Rod Laver Arena was open to Matildas fans on Saturday night but Wednesday night’s game at 8pm will clash with the basketball, which has South Sudan playing Venezuela at 5.30pm and then the Boomers taking on Brazil from 7.45pm.

Speaking on Sunday morning, Victorian mental health minister Gabrielle Williams hailed the success of the Matildas and said the government would do all it could to make sure there were enough live sites for fans to attend.
