Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr . on Wednesday warned that cases of Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children should not be settled at the barangay level.During a Palace press conference, Abalos strongly urged the public to bring this kind of incident to law enforcement authorities as most cases of online sexual abuse against minors no longer reach pertinent law officials.
According to Margarita Magsaysay, officer-in-charge and executive director of the National Coordinating Council on OSAEC and CSAEM, if these cases would not be endorsed to higher authorities, they can victimize other individuals.''Dapat ineendorse agad sa law enforcement authority, ang nangyayari ngayon sabi nga ni Sec., sinesettle na kasi sa level nila, siguro to maintain family harmony or whatever pero hindi 'yun puwede.
