This poor wee soul was very distressed when he was found.
Rescuers were horrified to find the grey Staffie type pet on Liddlesdale Road in Milton yesterday, and comforted the animal until Glasgow City Council's dog warden arrived.
The abandoned dog is now in the care of the Scottish SPCA, and prompted a call for people struggling to cope with pets to do the right thing and take them to shelters and not leave them in the street, the Daily Record reports.A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: "Our dog warden responded to a report of an abandoned dog at that location.
"The poor animal was distressed when they arrived and our officer took it straight to the SSPCA at Cardonald where it will be looked after and receive a vet check. If the animal has a microchip, the owner will be traced. If not, the animal will potentially be put up for rehoming. "Anyone who feels they can no longer look after a pet, maybe due to the cost of living crisis, is urged to contact organisations like the SSPCA or The Dogs Trust for advice and support, rather than abandoning a defenceless animal."
