Adam Frizzell hoped the Diamonds would draw the Dons
Airdrie captain Adam Frizzell admits Aberdeen are a dream draw in the Premier Sports Cup group stages, and is eager for a crack at the Premiership giants.
He said: “That’s the one I wanted straight away. I said to my girlfriend before we came out that I wanted Aberdeen. It’s a massive tie, and I think we’ve got them up there, if I’m right with the way the fixtures work. “I know they had a sticky season, but they’ll have quality international players, and it’s a great way to kick off the season and express ourselves.”
