The Dons have had a change of heart over their academy graduates after an impressive loan at Inverness.

Stephen Robinson has confirmed Alfie Bavidge and Alfie Stewart are set to sign new Aberdeen deals - but Marko Lazetic is likely to depart this summer.

His manager has confirmed it is probably best for both parties if there is a parting of the ways and the Serbian under-21 cap, who has scored just four goals, looks for a new challenge.

“Marko has not featured a lot under me,” Robinson acknowledged. “Probably, for both parties, Marko needs to play football at his age and we feel that would be best for both parties if that did happen. “Obviously, that has come from Marko’s side rather than mine in terms of the press coverage. It is something we will look at over the summer.

“As we will look at with every player. Marko is not alone, to see if they are part of the squad going forward. ”They were initially told the club couldn’t make a decision on their future until the manager’s situation had been sorted. Robinson confirmed: “They have certainly been offered new deals.

We are hoping to get this young boys tied down. It was something I inherited, we had maybe made a previous decision, I don’t know why, rightly or wrongly.

“Both have come in and impressed. We have offered them contracts because we want to keep them and we want them to develop here. We feel they might have a future going forward in the first-team.

‘They need to keep playing games and that is something we are very conscious of next season. ”Both the midfielder and striker will get the chance to impress Robinson in pre-season to stake first-team claims. If not they will be sent out on-loan again. Robinson has confirmed there are already a number of clubs circling.

He added: “They will have lot of suitors.

“Some of the young boys already have loan deals for. Anybody in the Championship or League One would take both Alfies. Clubs have phoned me about them and there are a lot of clubs interested in them. It makes me go, we definitely need to keep them. ”
