Jimmy Thelin and his troops can really increase the pressure on Philippe Clement and his Light Blues by claiming all three points
Aberdeen are looking to turn up the heat on the park against Rangers – and they are set to do similar off it before kick-off.
Jimmy Thelin and his high-flyers welcome Philippe Clement and his troops to the Granite City for a massive Scottish Premiership showdown under the lights. The Dons currently sit neck and neck with champions Celtic at the league summit after eight wins and a draw in their opening nine games. That share of the spoils came at Parkhead as they came from two goals down to earn a point against Brendan Rodgers' side and that impressive form so far sees them six points clear of the Light Blues.
Victory for Aberdeen would increase the gap over Rangers to NINE points after just ten games and that would prove an unthinkable scenario for Clement and the Ibrox faithful. An away triumph would bring that tally down to three with a huge amount at stake in what promises to be a blockbuster 90 minutes at Pittodrie.
The Red Army are set for another sell out on Wednesday night and as part of the club efforts to inspire the players they have confirmed pre-match plans for a pyro show when the players emerge from the tunnel. A flag and banner display will also take place before the 8pm kick-off in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
