Nationals leader David Littleproud clarifies Coalition's stance on Gaza refugees and accuses Labor of trying to 'destroy Peter Dutton 's character'

Leader of the Opposition Peter Dutton called for a temporary blanket ban on Palestinians fleeing Gaza entering Australia, as he held serious fears about the security process they were subject to before having their visas granted. " outlined three measures that need to be put in place that would give us comfort. That is either biometric, or face-to-face interview of these people when they come in," Mr Littleproud said on Saturday morning.

Mr Littleproud didn't directly mention Ms Steggall, however he lashed out at the personal attack on the Liberal Party leader, describing it as"abhorrent." "I just think that this is all show from the Teals and the Greens. We want those people to come here to enjoy the life that we have. But we've got to make the tough decisions sometimes, and it is a tough decision. You've got to actually do the hard work to make sure we protect that, and that's what we're saying."
