Neighbours told years of problems with the defendant, a Russian national who also worked for Jaguar Land Rover. Priadina was found out after walking around Asda in Great Barr drinking wine before leaving her baby in a pram outside Priadina had been at the flat alone when she had inflicted the injuries to the baby, which experts concluded had been caused by a combination of shaking and impact.
Antonie Muller, defending Priadina, said: ‘Sober, one would have thought there’s no problem here. She clearly had a catastrophic breakdown into alcohol abuse when she couldn’t possibly care for her baby and no doubt was susceptible to reacting to her baby crying.’ ‘She moved across the world to the UK no doubt wanting a better life. When she got here things didn’t turn out to be as rosy as she thought. She doesn’t blame the co-accused . He could have been more supportive. She had no support with the child.
