Russia has developed and begun to deploy a new AI-controlled unmanned ground vehicle called Abzat that can jam drones.
Russian forces have reportedly begun to deploy a new autonomous unmanned ground vehicle with drone-jamming capabilities. Developed by Scientific and Production Enterprise Geran , the new drones, named “Abzats,” are also partially controlled by artificial intelligence .
As per reports, Abzats are capable of moving at a speed of 3 mph to 15.5 mph while carrying a payload of up to 265 pounds . The drone’s electronic warfare package can interfere with all Ukrainian-used signals within a range of 94 feet to 1,969 feet .that AI is becoming a significant asset in the ongoing war in Ukraine, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of the former in February 2022.
He mentioned that the device is equipped with a remotely operated jamming system. “The Abzats can jam the entire spectrum of frequencies at which unmanned vehicles move or fly,” added Zhukov.that Abzats systems are already being used on a battlefield, but whether they are prototypes or mass-produced units is unclear.
In a report published in July 2023, Bendett stated that Ukraine appeared to benefit more from utilizing this AI technology overall.
