Gunfire, sirens and helicopters could be heard in Prattville as first responders took part in an active shooting training drill at Prattville Christian Academy. From 7AM until noon, members of several local and state agencies held a real-life training exercise at the school’s campus on Old Farm Lane. The training focused on emergency response to an active shooter incident on campus. Role players were used to simulate real-world conditions to test emergency-response capabilities.“We’ve partnered with the Autauga County Board of Education there. It’s not uncommon for us to train inside the schools. We have maps of every school, we know the layout and it’s a great partnership,” Maj. James Harry of the Prattville Police Department said.
“This exercise provided provided insight to how prepared we are,” Katie Furr, the Head of School at Prattville Christian Academy, said.State and local agencies participating in the exercise included the Prattville Police Department, Prattville Fire Department, Prattville Baptist Health, Haynes Ambulance, and Emergency Management Agencies from Elmore and Autauga County.Selma businessman gives cash to over 100 teachers in Dallas Co.
