Nash Clyne was killed on Sunday in Acton while three others sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were called to Birkbeck Road, Acton, just after 04:00 GMT on Sunday, following reports of a fight and possible gunshots.A Met spokesperson said it is believed at least three others were injured - although none are believed to be in a life-threatening condition. No arrests have been made.
Mr Clyne's family has been informed and a post mortem examination will take place in the coming days. Detectives said the nature and cause of these injuries, including identifying what weapons may have been used, will form part of the investigation into the incident. Det Ch Insp Brian Howie said officers were still in the early stages of their investigation and appealed for witnesses, especially those who may have been in the Front Line Cuts barber shop or the Paradise Cuts barber shop, both on Acton High Street, between 22:00 GMT on Saturday and 04:30 GMT on Sunday.
