A Bundaberg man found with more than 20,000 child exploitation images and videos on his devices was driven by a 'desperate need to be accepted', a court has heard.

Daniel Patrick Gall, 44, pleaded guilty in the District Court in Bundaberg on Wednesday to charges including possessing child exploitation material and using a carriage service to access child abuse material.The court heard officers found more than 16,000 images and more than 3,000 videos of child abuse material on his phone.
The court heard Gall was already serving a suspended sentence from August 2020 for similar offences when his home was raided last year. In her defence submissions, lawyer Simone Bain said Gall was not sexually attracted to children, but his offending was driven by a "desperate need to be accepted".
