Red Bull may be enjoying life at the top now but it was not too long again when they were playing catch-up. 📝 Formula_Nerds F1

Adrian Newey has reflected on how Red Bull tackled the hybrid era back in 2014 and went through a very difficult phase to get back to winning ways.Red Bull’s chief designer was one of the many reasons why Red Bull dominated between 2010 and 2013. Sebastian Vettel was world champion four consecutive times and won Red Bull the constructors’ title too. They were unstoppable until it all changed when Formula 1 entered the hybrid era in 2014.

The 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engines had complex hybrid energy recovery systems, with the regulations going through a complete overhaul. Just like in 2022, when teams were left to figure out how to produce a great package with aerodynamic changes, teams were then left to develop a reliable hybrid engine.

Red Bull went into this era with Renault, hoping for more great results. However, things didn’t go their way. They failed to keep their place on top because of the unreliable and under-performing engine which took their shine away. The focus was all on Mercedes, who went on to dominate for seven years.

Rise of the natural red pigment ‘prodigiosin’ as an immunomodulator in cancer - Cancer Cell InternationalRise of the natural red pigment ‘prodigiosin’ as an immunomodulator in cancer - Cancer Cell InternationalCancer is a heterogeneous disease with multifaceted drug resistance mechanisms (e.g., tumour microenvironment [TME], tumour heterogeneity, and immune evasion). Natural products are interesting repository of bioactive molecules, especially those with anticancer activities. Prodigiosin, a red pigment produced by Serratia marcescens, possesses inherent anticancer characteristics, showing interesting antitumour activities in different cancers (e.g., breast, gastric) with low or without harmful effects on normal cells. The present review discusses the potential role of prodigiosin in modulating and reprogramming the metabolism of the various immune cells in the TME, such as T and B lymphocytes, tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs), natural killer (NK) cells, and tumour-associated dendritic cells (TADCs), and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) which in turn might introduce as an immunomodulator in cancer therapy.
