Converge shooting guard Adrian Wong is taking a sabbatical from basketball after just playing four years in the PBA.
The first-round pick of Rain or Shine in 2019 is taking some time off from active play in an Instagram post made by Wong's representative from the Titan Management Group.'Adrian Wong will be taking some time off from playing basketball to physically and mentally recharge. We wish Adrian all the best during this time of rest,' the sports management group wrote on its Instagram account on Thursday.
'After careful consideration, I've chosen to take a step back from playing basketball for the meantime,' said Wong in a statement. 'This decision stems from a personal need to recharge physically and mentally.'Converge still retains the rights to Wong.After playing two seasons with Rain or Shine, Wong joined Magnolia during the 2021 season, before being traded in April 2023 to Converge, along with PBA Slam Dunk champion David Murrell.
