He announced the news via an emotional tribute on a GoFundMe page, where he described her as ‘a beloved daughter, sister, grand daughter, niece and friend’. ‘On behalf of her mother & family, It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the news of our beloved Sophia’s passing,’ Romero write on the memorial page. ‘The sudden loss of Sophia has left her family and friends devastated and in shock.’ Leone was found dead in her apartment by family on March 1 Her stepfather remembered her as someone who ‘always found ways to make everyone around her smile’ He explained: ‘Sophia was found unresponsive in her apartment home on March 1st, 2024 by her family. A investigation by local police into the cause of death is still currently ongoing.’ Romero also remembered Miami-born Leone’s ‘deep love for all animals, specifically her three pets’. ‘She enjoyed travelling and always found ways to make everyone around her smile,’ he added. Leone last posted on Instagram only last week, sharing pictures with her 295,000 followers. She reportedly got her start in the adult entertainment industry aged 18, according to her IMDb credits, and was thought to have a net worth north of $1million . Romero signed off his tribute: ‘As her stepfather, I want to personally thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time. She reportedly had her start in the porn industry aged 18 ‘Sophia will be deeply missed but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.’ Tributes and donations have been pouring in on behalf of Leone to her page, with 32-year-old fellow adult content creator Lena The Plug pledging $500 to cover funeral costs and urging her own fans to donate by sharing the link on her Instagram. Leone’s LA agency 101 Modeling remembered Leone, tweeting in tribute: ‘Our hearts are broken by the untimely and tragic passing of our beloved Sophia Leone. A beautiful spirit who touched many of us. Tributes have been paid to the actress ‘RIP sweet angel and know how much we loved you.’ ‘Oh my god Sophia was so beautiful and kind I can’t believe this,’ shared fellow adult star Santana Ayo on social media platform X. The news comes just days after Emily Willis, also a porn star, was reported as remaining in critical condition after being rushed to hospital. The 25-year-old has not regained consciousness since going into cardiac arrest on February 5 during a stay at a rehab facility in Malibu.
