Kevin Wilkin believes AFC Telford United is the right environment for youngster Steffan Jones to develop in for now.

The 19-year-old defender has had limited game time at the Bucks since arriving in July 2023 but has yet to go out on loan.

And after Jones’ impressive cameo last weekend at Mickleover, his manager explained why keeping him around is beneficial to both the club and the player, for now. “Steff needs to play some games now, that’s something we’re hoping to help him with either at us or on loan as we start moving forward,” Wilkin said. “That’s his next step, to gain some more matchday experience with a consistent run of games, but only when we have enough numbers in the squad.

“Those are really important factors; he’s trying to improve himself by doing that little bit of extra work and it’ll help him when he does get a run of games.
