The judge is stuck in Pakistan but has UK family who are desperate to host her

Yosra said she had been “struggling deeply with depression and feels vulnerable and afraid.”

“I have witnessed many attacks on my fellow members of the judiciary but fortunately so far have survived similar acts directed at me. I tried to patiently wait for the British government to reunite me with my British family – only to learn 10 months later that they have refused.” Yosra estimates that she sentenced more than 2,500 people over the course of her career, and said that many of them have now been released and hold junior or mid-level positions in the Taliban’s Government. Some of those she sentenced had been plotting terror attacks against Governments and international forces.

Kingsley Napley immigration solicitor Oliver Oldman said that “if any case should be granted on compassionate grounds, it is this one”, noting also that she has close family here who “want to look after her at no cost to the British tax payer.”
