The judge who led the investigation into the alleged war crimes of Australian soldiers in Afghanistan has been tapped to lead the first federal corruption watchdog, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.
The appointment of Justice Paul Brereton is yet to be confirmed by a parliamentary committee of twelve MPs.
“Not a bad gig for Brereton either – the starting salary for this commission is $728,000 dollars,” Ms Credlin said.
