Melbourne superstar Christian Petracca has spoken for the first time since his frustrations with the club became public. With the footy world waiting to hear what he had to say, a bubbly Petracca appeared in a club video, but did not address the recent rumours that he wanted he wanted to leave the Demons. In a quirk, however, he admitted he would not be attending Melbourne’s best-and-fairest awards next month. Instead, the 28-year-old has approval to attend a training camp in Austria.
” Petracca has struggled with his mental health since suffering a traumatic injury when he copped an errant knee in Melbourne’s clash with Collingwood on King’s Birthday. In addition to the lacerated spleen, he suffered four broken ribs and a punctured lung, and spent nearly a week in ICU after undergoing emergency surgery. Later, reports circulated that he wanted to be traded to a Victorian rival.
