Specks of uncovered sunlight made brief appearances throughout the Bay Area on Thursday, along with calm winds, thanks to a respite between the waves of an atmospheric river storm that continued to flow toward the Central Coast.
A rainbow appears in the the Dimond and Laurel districts in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024. The storm toppled some trees throughout the region, causing at least one injury when a girl was pinned under a tree that fell on a home in Saratoga. “Most of the gusts will stay under 30 miles per hour,” she said. “And they will more short-lived than the last event in terms of the how long the winds last.”
