Nathaniel Enemona was seen sitting on a wall beside the River Roch during Storm Bert before going missing
It was on November 24 that Nathaniel Favour Enemona left his family home after telling his wife he was going to the shop. He never returned.
Police, firefighters, mountain rescue teams, an HM Coastguard helicopter, and paramedics took part in the rescue operation following Nathaniel's disappearance. Nathaniel, a construction worker, was known to regularly visit the area around Heywood Waterfall, which is around a ten minute walk from his home. The hypothesis was that he had somehow entered the water.
And Beneath The Surface, a voluntary underwater sonar search and recovery dive team based in the north west, also became involved. Tragedy then struck on Saturday when the team made a discovery and called 999. "Yesterday we began our search at 10:20 and at 10:54 sadly we located a body. We exited the water and informed Greater Manchester Police who took control of the scene. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to the family and friends at this difficult time."
