The technology works when a patient wears a continuous glucose monitoring device that tracks glucose levels in real-time. The AI software then tracks trends and patterns, predicting glycemic responses to different factors, like food intake and exercise.Dr. Jerome Fischer, a board certified endocrinologist and chief medical officer for Bio Conscious Technology explained, “This technology allows us to pinpoint which people are at higher risk for trouble. And say notify the patient through an app that's on their phone or the other provider on their population dashboard.
Mele says the technology could be good, but does not know how much she can trust AI to give her medical advice.Dr. Fischer says the software will not tell the patient any advice on its own.In response to the safety measures, Mele concluded, “That would definitely give me a little bit more trust in what they're saying.”
