With the WWDC 2024 keynote just around the corner, a new iOS 18 and macOS 15 leak reveals several changes coming for Apple's built-in Music and QuickTime apps. People familiar with the matter told AppleInsider that Cupertino is working on new features for both of these apps with an on-device AI focus. For example, Apple has been working on a new smart song transition feature.
AppleInsider hints at a possible rebrand of the feature. However, it also says Passthrough won't require an Apple Music subscription, as it's going to be available on macOS 15's QuickTime app update. Lastly, Cupertino is also planning new gaming and spatial computing features, focusing on audio accessories like headphones and headsets. The publication says Apple is working on Spatial Gaming, which could probably bring a more immersive audio experience when playing games.
