BREAKING: Air ambulance called out as person 'trapped' in M62 smash
Fire and Rescue Service says it was called out to the scene on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 10 for the M6 and 11 for Birchwood at 10.22am today .and Birchwood are currently in attendance. A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "Firefighters are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the M62 east, with one person trapped.
"Police and paramedics are in attendance and lanes 2 and 3 are currently closed. Air Ambulance has been requested." A spokesperson for National Highways North West wrote on Twitter: "2 lanes are closed on the M62 eastbound in Cheshire between J10 and J11 due to a collision.
"Emergency services and our Traffic Officers are on scene. There's a 20 minute delay on approach with 3 miles of congestion."
