This one’s a bit more unsavory than losing the party line. It probably wasn’t effective anyway, but it sure kept a lot of political workers busy during decades of campaigns.

Another long-time political tradition is soon going to bite the dust, if it hasn’t already. And this one’s a bit more unsavory than losing the party line. It probably wasn’t effective anyway and it is officially a misdemeanor in New Jersey, but it sure kept a lot of political workers busy during decades of campaigns.

And here’s the really surprising thing: it was an ingenious small group of Republicans in bright red Hunterdon County who probably put an end to the gamesmanship of candidates and their followers stealing one another’s campaign signs. How did they do that? Simple, really. One group hid Apple Air Tags on the group’s signs. They knew the precise locations where they’d put the signs and were able to watch them move across town to their opponent’s garage after midnight.
