Josh Rae is recovering from a serious head knock sustained in Inverness
Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe says goalkeeper Josh Rae is a major doubt for Sunday’s SPFL Trust Trophy final against TNS, after suffering a bleed on the brain.
Rae was missing from the squad on Saturday as Airdrie beat Arbroath 5-2, with new signing Robbie Hemfrey making his debut. “We were there on Sunday morning through the night, he got his CT scan, which came back and said he had a small bleed and trauma, so I don’t know if that’s initially from the impact itself.
Striker Gabby McGill missed Saturday’s win due to a hamstring knock he also picked up in Inverness, and McCabe said: “Gabby felt his hamstring, so I’m hoping it’s not a long-term one.
