A pensioner has fallen from scaffolding in Airdrie this afternoon, with police closing off the road to allow emergency services access.
The 74-year-old man fell from the scaffolding on South Bridge Street in the town centre at around 12.45pm today . Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after. The man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital shortly afterwards for treatment. Police shut down the road following the incident with the area currently remaining closed off. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 74-year-old man having fallen from a scaffolding while working on South Bridge Street in Airdrie around 12.45pm on Wednesday, 7 February.“The road has been closed to allow emergency services access.
