A spokesperson for the airport has said they are working to 'establish the circumstances surrounding the incident'
Despite an emergency services response, the 59-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.10pm on Wednesday, January 11 to a report of a man falling at Prestwick Airport.“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A spokesperson for the airport later confirmed the news and shared their condolences with all those affected. They said: “Glasgow Prestwick Airport can confirm that an employee died following an incident on site on Wednesday, January 11. “Everyone at the airport is devastated and our thoughts are with the employee’s family and friends at this extremely sad time.
“We are working closely with the relevant authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
