In a press release Friday afternoon, the Akron mayor announced the cancellation of a concert just one hour before its start time at an Akron park.
AKRON , Ohio - In a press conference Friday evening, Akron Mayor Shammas Malik cancelled all large gatherings on Akron public property, including several Juneteenth events.
The night began after a release said a concert at Lock 3 Park, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will be cancelled due to “concerns from Akron City Council members.” The concert was not cancelled until an hour-and-a-half before its start time.At a press conference Friday evening, Mayor Shammas Malik announced all weekend Juneteenth events will be cancelled.
