FOX10 will air a special telecast Sunday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. in which candidates vying for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives participate in a forum on the issues.
Published: Feb. 22, 2024 at 11:33 AM CST) - Candidates running for the seat took part in the forum that was recently recorded at the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts in Montgomery ahead of the upcoming statewide primary election. The forum was moderated by FOX10 anchor Lenise Ligon and WSFA anchor Mark Bullock.
The moderators asked the candidates questions on topics including immigration reform, government spending, support for American agriculture, shoring up Social Security and mental healthcare access. “With the primary coming up on March 5, this is a crucial opportunity for voters to get to know where the candidates stand before they cast their votes,” said Ligon.
Democratic candidates for the Alabama 2nd Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives are James Averhart, Napoleon Bracy Jr., Merika Coleman, Anthony Daniels, Shomari Figures, Juandalynn “LeLe” Givan, Jeremy Gray, Phyllis Harvey-Hall, Willie J. Lenard, Vimal Patel Larry and Darnell Simpson.
Republican candidates for the Alabama 2nd Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives are Greg Albritton, Dick Brewbaker, Caroleene Dobson, Karla M. DuPriest, Wallace Gilberry, Hampton S. Harris, Stacey T. Shepperson and Belinda Thomas.
