NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Office of Inspector General announced Tuesday an Alabama woman has been convicted of TennCare fraud.
Tina Lowe of Loxley, Alabama, became the subject of a criminal investigation after the inspector general’s office received information that she had “misrepresented her household composition while residing outside Tennessee, an eligibility requirement for TennCare benefits,” according to a media release.
Lowe was convicted of one count of TennCare Fraud. She was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and ordered to repay $18,893 in restitution to the Division of TennCare. The Davidson County District Attorney’s office, led by District Attorney Glenn Funk, prosecuted Lowe’s case. Assistant District Attorney Amy Hunter was the lead prosecutor in this case.
