The incident happened Wednesday afternoon in the 2800 block of Mound Street.
Marionna Haley, Isaiah Howard and Sariyah Barker are each charged with one count of carjacking and two counts of child abuse, as well as firearm enhancements, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release Friday.
“Children are exceptionally vulnerable to gun violence,” District Attorney Pamela Price said. “A gun allegedly being used while children were in the car at the time of this carjacking was dangerous and is absolutely unacceptable in Alameda County.”A 42-year-old woman and two 4-year-old children — a boy and a girl — were parked in front of a home when three suspects approached them and demanded the keys to their BMW sport utility vehicle, Alameda police said. One of the suspects had a firearm.
