MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas collapsed over host country Thailand, losing via sweep, 25-15, 25-12, 25-11, in the 22nd Princess Cup U18 Women's Southeast Asian Volleyball Championship at Nakhon Pathom in Thailand on Wednesday.The national team suffered its first defeat and now tallied a 2-1 win-loss record, while Thailand remained undefeated with a 3-0 card. In the deciding frame, Thailand led as much by eleven points late in the third set, 22-11.
The Philippines suffered a beatdown in the second set as Thailand had a 21-9 advantage. Daylisan stopped the bleeding after converting a down-the-line hit, and Kim Rubin quickly responded to breathe life to Alas Pilipinas, 23-11. With no room for errors for the Philippines, the national team traded errors with Thailand that easily gave the host team a 2-0 advantage, 25-12.
