Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has criticised pro-Palestinian demonstrators who chanted 'from the river to the sea' as members of the Jewish community gathered to remember Israeli victims of terror attacks.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has condemned pro-Palestinian demonstrators who confronted members of the Jewish community at an event at Monash Uni versity.A Melbourne Uni versity academic has expressed concern pro-Palestinian encampments could face violent dispersal as seen in the United States.
"I reckon if you asked those people who are chanting it, heaps of them wouldn't have a clue, wouldn't be able to find the Jordan on a map," he told ABC Radio Melbourne. "I'm very concerned that the rhetoric that's being deployed about these encampments is preparing the way for them to be violently dispersed and is also encouraging these attacks that they're regularly facing," he told ABC Radio Melbourne."By and large, the encampments have been impeccably disciplined and peaceful and they've regularly faced assaults from external sources.""That's what a university is supposed to be about.
"From my own direct experience speaking with students and staff, there is not a shadow of a doubt that we have a serious problem," he wrote.
