The new shop could create 40 full-time jobs
The famous food retailer has put forward proposals to build on brownfield land at the junction of Pendle Drive and Gorsey Lane. The site is currently occupied by the disused Children's Services Pendle Drive Building, which closed down several years ago.
Bryn Richards, real estate director for Aldi, said: "We're delighted to announce our plans for a new food store at this site in Litherland. The site is ideally located for a store of this size, allowing us to alleviate the pressures on our existing stores in the area and to bring our products to a new area of Sefton, while redeveloping a brownfield site that has fallen into disrepair.
Aldi will be displaying its vision for a new food store with a virtual consultation, running from today, July 8, to Monday, July 22. Residents can find details about the plans HERE, and use the online feedback form to have their say.
