Discount supermarket giant Aldi has issued an urgent recall and refund notice over a food item sold in its stores which has become the subject of a police investigation. Aldi says a batch of tortilla wraps sold in its stores may have become contaminated with metal.
Discount supermarket giant Aldi has issued an urgent recall and refund notice over a food item sold in its stores which has become the subject of a police investigation.In a release, Aldi said the wraps are now the subject of an 'active police investigation'. Aldi said the specific product affected is Village Bakery 8 Tortilla Wraps White . The mini 8x31g wraps are not affected.
The product codes affected are 68150, 835475 and 383422. It includes all regions and ALL best before dates up to and including 29.04.24, so the product is still in date if you have it in your cupboards. Aldi said: "As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Village Bakery 8 Tortilla Wraps White because this product may have been contaminated with pieces of metal. Anyone who bought this product should return it to their nearest store for a full refund. We would like to reassure our customers that no other Aldi products are affected and apologise for any inconvenience caused."All our products go through rigorous safety and quality checks.
