Members of the ALEA and state leaders urged the public to be cautious during National Safe Boating Week.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Many demonstrations on the Alabama Capitol steps involve controversial issues, but Tuesday’s focused on a cause that nearly everyone can get behind.
Law enforcement stressed that in a 12-month span, 17 people died and 65 people were injured on the water. “During the coming Memorial Day holiday period, marine patrol troopers will be joined by law enforcement officers from the United States Coast Guard,” said Chief Matt Brooks with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division, adding other officers will also be on patrol.
