The pair worked together at Dens Park and McPake sees Jakubiak as the man to get his Pars team firing in the Championship.
Record Sport understands the Pars have opened talks and are set to sign the striker, who is a free agent, on a deal for the season. The 27-year-old has been without a club since he helped fire Dundee back into the Premiership last season. Jakubiak is no stranger to Dunfermline boss James McPake, who first had him at Dundee. The Fifers are amongst the lowest scorers in the Championship and McPake is looking to add more of a cutting edge.
Jakubiak has options in England and Northern Ireland but looks set for East End Park. The former Scotland youth striker could make his debut, subject to clearance, in the SPFL trust trophy clash at Dundee United tomorrow. He has a wealth of experience in Scotland with St Mirren, Falkirk, Partick Thistle and the Dark Blues. Jakubiak has also had stints at Watford, Oxford, Fleetwood, Gillingham and Bristol Rovers.
