Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Potter’s Harry Melling will play lovers in a new queer romance movie titled Pillion.
, Skarsgård and Melling have both been tapped to star in Pillion, which is headed to the Cannes Film Market later this month. The movie is being directed by first-time feature director“Pillion follows Colin , a weedy wallflower letting life pass him by,” the official synopsis reads. “That is until Ray , the impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club, takes him on as his submissive.
Based on Adam Mars-Jones’ 2005 novel Box Hill: A Story of Low Self-esteem, Pillion is produced by Emma Norton, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, and Lee Groombridge. Eva Yates, Claire Binns, Pim Hermeling, and Skarsgård serve as executive producers. Skarsgård is known for starring in 2012’s Battleship, 2015’s The Diary of a Teenage Girl, 2016’s The Legend of Tarzan, 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, 2022’s The Northman, and 2023’s Infinity Pool, while he also played Eric Northman in True Blood, Perry Wright in Big Little Lies, and Lukas Matsson in Succession.
Melling, meanwhile, is best known for playing Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter franchise.
