A battle raged about the life of terminally ill Alfie Evans
Dad Tom Evans, 22, looked smitten with his baby boy, who was dressed in full Everton kit and an adorable pom-pom hat. The 39,400 fans in the stadium, in Walton Liverpool, applauded and cheered as Tom arrived before kick-off.before the match, writing on Instagram: "#Allbecauseofalfie today Thomas made his debut at Goodison Park."And he got to meet the players and manager... he had a lovely day and stayed awake through the whole game.
A series of courts agreed with doctors' decisions, prompting desperate Tom and girlfriend Kate James, 21, to campaign for him to be kept on life support in the hope he could be taken abroad for life-saving experimental treatment.Tom even met with Pope Francis who supported the couple's fight for their son - but ultimately his life support machine was switched off.
