Alice Evans has sparked rumours she may be engaged amid her bitter custody battle with her ex husband Ioan Gruffudd. The actress showed off a huge diamond on her finger which was gifted to her by one of her "favourite people in the world".
The 55-year-old posted a selfie on Instagram as she flaunted the sparkling rock, which appears to be sitting on her ring finger in front of her face. The 10 Things I Hate About You star, who has recently been very active on the social media app, posed for the picture showcasing a smokey eye look along with bold red lipstick, the Mirror reports. She captioned the snap: "One of the great benefits of being an accomplished multi-tasker is being able to selfie and pick one’s nose at the same time. Or so they say…." followed by a smiling emoji and the hashtag "#outtakes". One follower was quick to pick up on her new jewel as they asked in the comments: "What’s that on your hand??", to which Alice responded: "It's a gift. From one of my favorite people in the world. I hope that person will notice.." Alice revealed she has finally found love as she celebrated her 55th birthday and shared some sweet pictures of herself with her daughters. She wrote: "We had the BEST TIME EVER. Instagram won’t let me put in all the pics in one go. I am SO in love right now and cannot believe I only felt this level of intense love at 55. "More info coming. Love you all for being so kind to me. I will never forget. I may sound cryptic but life has taught me to be cautious. All will become clear. Love love love love you all." The selfie comes after her ex-husband Ioan Gruffudd was granted a major court win amid their messy custody battle. The former husband and wife share their daughters, Ella, 13, and Elsie, nine, together. The Fantastic Four actor filed for divorce from Alice during the fallout of their dramatic spit. The former couple met during the filming of the 2000 film 102 Dalmatians, in which they both had leading roles, and they later went on to tie the knot in 2007. However, ever since the breakdown of their 13 year marriage, they have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their two young children. In recent court documents, Ioan continued to claim his ex-wife was a "child abuser"and alleged that she "continued to inflict serious emotional harm on Ella and Elsie by her statements and by interfering in my relationship with them." He also claimed that Alice had "verbally abused and undermined" him in front of their children throughout their lives. He previously made all the same claims in a filing from June against his ex-spouse. He wrote in the declaration: "Since January 2021, Alice has also encouraged and instructed them not to see me or communicate with me and she has made thousands of threatening and abusive communications to me and about me". He went on to claim that the actress had been refusing to bring their girls to therapy sessions, despite it being an Order for them to attend, which Alice denied in her own declaration. The Welsh actor stated: "Since separation, the girls have missed more therapy sessions than they have attended, and they have had multiple therapists" . Judge Josh Freeman Stinn said: "The petitioner’s [Gruffudd's] request for the appointment of a child custody evaluator is granted." Neither Ioan and Alice were physically in attendance for the hearing. In Ioan's court filing from earlier this month, he touched on their eldest daughter filing a restraining order request against him and his partner Bianca Wallace, which was denied. Top showbiz news The 13-year-old previously requested a restraining order for herself and her sister Elsie against the actress for five years. Speaking about the restraining order request, he said: "I believe Alice has used and harmed Ella, and I believe Alice was the person behind Ella's actions and TRO/DVRO request." He concluded the Declaration by saying he believes "Alice's actions are child abuse and I am gravely concerned for our children."
